چکیده

Abstract The use of natural products as additives in the production aquaculture feed stimulates appetite, improves growth performance, and strengthens immune defense mechanism numerous species. This study was conducted to determine effect various Carica papaya leaf processing techniques on body indices, survival red hybrid tilapia with an initial weight 2.371.0 ± 0.036 g. Four isonitrogenous (360.00 gkg −1 ) isolipidic (80.00 diets were formulated fed triplicate groups for 12 weeks using a completely randomized experimental design. Papaya inclusion varied based method: control (0%), commercial extract (1%), oven-dried powder (2%), freeze-dried (2%). Regardless method, final fish diet containing leaves significantly greater (P 0.05) than that group. However, there no significant difference > performance between techniques. Similarly, gain, specific rate, conversion ratio did not differ supplemented leaf. In addition, viscero-somatic index, hepato-somatic rates affected by different Despite fact had functional additives, oven-drying is recommended due lower cost. Similar commercially produced extracts, 2% can be used dietary supplement aquaculture.

Feed-based vaccination regime against streptococcosis in red tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus x Oreochromis mossambicus

BACKGROUND Streptococcosis is an important disease of tilapia throughout the world. In Malaysia, streptococcosis outbreak was commonly reported during the 3-month period of high water temperature between April and July. This study describes the duration of protection following single and double booster dose regimes against streptococcosis in tilapia using a feed-based vaccine containing formali...

Effect of Different Salinity Levels on Growth and Survival of Nile Tilapia (oreochromis Niloticus)

A three months study was conducted in cemented tanks (2.896ft×0.762ft×0.914ft) to investigate the effect of different salinity levels on growth performance and survival of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Four salinity levels i.e. 1600 ppm in Treatment 1 (TI), 2400 ppm in TII, 3200 ppm in TIII and 4000 ppm in TIV were maintained while in control (T0) the salinity level was 800 ppm. Each tr...

regulated by, and suited to, the environment in which they reproduce. In many teleosts, which spawn in either freshwater or seawater, sperm motility is initiated by osmotic shock when sperm are ejaculated. These osmolality dependent regulatory systems are quite different in freshwater cyprinid teleosts, such as carp, gold fish and zebrafish, and marine teleosts, such as the pufferfish and floun...

Acclimation responses of gill ionocytes of red tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus × O. niloticus) to water salinity and alkalinity

To understand the acclimation strategies of red tilapia to different environments, this study aimed to evaluate different responses of red tilapia (O. mossambicus × O. niloticus) to salinity (10-30‰), alkalinity (1-3 gL-1 NaHCO3) and salinity and alkalinity (10/1-30/3 ‰/gL-1NaHCO3) environments. Localization, type, size, and numeration of gill ionocytes were investigated on the sa...
